Adventist Hospital – Cebu launched to public its newly built emergency room and other state-of-the-art facilities and equipment on August 17, 2016.
This launching is anchored to the hospital’s vows and commitment to continually improve its health care services and standards to bring forth customers’ satisfaction at all times and to meet the requirements of the Department of Health as well.
The inauguration was packed with some prominent guests, officers, staff and friends from the Southern Asia – Pacific Division, Central Philippine Union Conference and all over Cebu. Other guests who were present during the official opening and ribbon cutting were the barangay captain and some of the retirees of the hospital.
To commemorate God’s goodness and love for His boundless blessings to the Adventist Hospital – Cebu in its humble beginnings, the inauguration kicked-off with a thanksgiving devotional held at Cebu City SDA Church with Pastor Agapito Catane, Jr., CPUC president, as the speaker. During his inspirational message, he underscored about the excellence in commitment. He highlighted the lessons in the life of Daniel. Meanwhile, Dr. Evelyn Pepito, president of Adventist Hospital – Cebu, gave the history of the hospital before the ribbon cutting which she led herself together with Mr. Rufo Gasapo, AISPHI president/chairman and one of the board of trustees; Pastor Agapito Catane Jr., CPUC president; Ms. Joan Amparo, SSD AHSA director; and Lotlot Porteza, AH-C maintenance department head.
After the ribbon cutting was the blessing ceremony. Inspirational messages were also shared from selected speakers. They were Mr. Rufo Gasapo, Mr. Alphonse Yap, AH-C ER department head and Hon. Abraham Desamparado, Brgy. Captain of San Nicholas. During the individual message, Mr. Gasapo stressed three important things that a hospital should have — a hospital that will represent Christ, a hospital that we can be proud of and a hospital that promotes the work of the church, the active partners of the ministry. Mr. Alphonso Yap shared his poetic message about his dream of the hospital. “Among my dream…it’s my joy, my pride for making my dream come true,” he said. Hon. Desamparado showed his sincere thanks for having the Adventist Hospital – Cebu. He shared his experiences when he was admitted to the hospital and how committed the staff were in giving service and caring their patients. He promised that he will give his full support to the hospital too.
The blessing ceremony ended with a closing remark by Dr. Leslie Adlaon, AH-Cebu vice president, expressing his thanks and hopes for the betterment of the hospital and a closing prayer by Pastor Charles Nogra.
Furthermore, the inauguration culminated with a tour to the newly built rooms and other state-of-the-art facilities such as the emergency room, endoscopy unit, ultrasound room, cardiovascular machine, new business office, new conference room, chaplaincy office and I.T. Room. Lunch was also served to all the guests.
