More than 1000 patients were served on the medical and dental mission held at Macias Sports Complex, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on May 31 to June 1, 2018.
This medical and dental mission was sponsored by the HIMIG Foundation from Edinburg, Texas, USA in collaboration with some medical institutions and organizations such as the Adventist Hospital Cebu (AHC) medical team headed by AHC president, Dr. Evelyn S. Pepito; Adventist Medic Society (AMS) of Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission headed by the AMS president, Mr. Roy Mandalupa; Cebu City dental team headed by Dr. Marvefe Java along with the dental students, medical volunteers from Bacolod and Cebu, Health Care Diagnostic Center – Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission headed by NSM President Eliezer Patricio, and the group of young volunteers coming from Districts 7, 8 & 9.
The basic services rendered were consultations, tooth extraction, minor surgical operation (cyst removal), circumcision, eye check-up with free eyeglasses, pop smear, blood typing, glucose blood sugar testing, body fat/health age assessment, health and wellness coaching.
“Dr. Oral James, gastroenterologist and one of the members of HIMIG’s medical team, shared what he liked most during the medical and dental mission. “I really appreciate the spirit of commitment and voluntarism of the medical team who left their clinics and gave their precious time for the one day and a half of serving the less fortunate people.”
