On December 2016, Metro Cebu Women’s Ministries (MCWM) organized an association of churches called Metro Cebu Women’s Ministries Association of Churches (MCWMAC) held at the headquarters of Central Visayan Conference, Escario St., Cebu City, through the leadership of Metro Cebu WM President-elect Grace Arrogante under the supervision of Glenda C. Catane and Fe R. Pigon, Women’s Ministries directors of Central Philippine Union Conference (CPUC) and Central Visayan Conference (CVC) respectively.

The objective of this association is to foster camaraderie and closer relationship with one another and to strengthen and edify each other’s faith in God. There were seven (7) participating districts such as Talisay City District Association of Churches (TCDAC), Cebu City District Association of Churches (CCDAC), Adventist Academy-Cebu International Church, Capitol Center SDA Church, Cebu City SDA Church, Northern Cebu District Association of Churches (NCDAC), and Mactan-Olango District Association of Churches (MOISSA).

The first activity conducted was a grand fellowship lunch and the induction of Metro Cebu WM Association officers last January 08, 2017 at the Adventist Academy-Cebu (AAC) gymnasium with Glenda C. Catane, CPUC WM/SI director, as the guest speaker. About 500 women and children, wearing color-coded t-shirts, attended the said activity. The induction of officers was led by Pastor Clyde Potot, district pastor of South Central Cebu, and the dedicatory prayer was offered by Pastor Noe Pagunsan, church pastor of Capitol SDA Church.

After the induction of the WM officers, they were given time to lay plans for church visitations, evangelistic campaigns, missionary endeavors and other community outreach activities. In the afternoon, everybody joined the team-building activities and other exciting games led by the Women’s Ministries officers.

On March 26, 2017, a community outreach in the municipality of Barili, Cebu was initiated. There were more than 150 women in attendance who visited the Hospicio de San Jose de Barili to distribute food and books to the elderly. Almost 100 aged people benefited the said activity and even enjoyed the short program sponsored by the women. After the distribution, the group had their fellowship lunch held at Sayaw Beach, Barili, Cebu.

On the months of April & May, the women of Talisay City District Association of Churches (TCDAC) organized a series of Health Emphasis seminar led by Dr. Orville Hershman, adviser of the Women’s Ministries and Health Ministries leader of Bulacao SDA Church, and Dr. Dale Pasco, surgeon and consultant of the Adventist Hospital-Cebu. The seminar was held at Faith Adventist Church (formerly CVM Press SDA Church). They also conducted
quarterly church visitations with series of feeding programs on Sabbath afternoon.

On August 28, 2017, the TCDAC WM officers and members went for a day’s retreat at Cebu Westown Lagoon, Mandaue City.

Moreover, the final event conducted by the Metro Cebu Women’s Ministries Association of Churches was the Women’s Day Social Fellowship and Thanksgiving held in the Adventist Academy-Cebu gymnasium. The highlight of the program was the thanksgiving and the
forgiveness play let done by each district.

The different activities made the women of Metro Cebu to have a closer relationship with each other and most of all, to God!

“We praise God for the success of our programs as well as for His sustaining grace and guidance, mercy and abundant blessings throughout the year 2017 and in the years to come,” some of the women officers shared happily.
