The seven-day federation rally was participated by six districts of NSM, namely: district nine (Dauin to Dumaguete) with District Pastor Reteboy Clavite, district seven(Sibulan to Tanjay) with District Leader Julius Pajulas, district four (Bais to Bindoy) with District Pastor Seth Abinque, district three (Ayungon to Tayasan) with District Leader Jimmycrito Henoñe, district two (Jimalalud to Guihulngan) with District Pastor Tito Lasota, and district one (Valle-By Stephanie Loriezo By Novie P. Pajulas Negros Occidental Conference mizpah. april.may.june 2018 29 hermoso to Canlaon) with District Leader George Claudel.
There was a torch parade on the opening program, and each district was recognized by their district uniform and banner. Cheering and raising of banners followed. It was formally opened by the federation president, Mr. Heber Langgam, at 6 o’clock in the evening on the 22nd day of April, with the presence of the Municipal Mayor of Vallehermoso, Hon. Marianne S. Gustilo; Brgy. Captain of Poblacion, Vallehermoso, Hon. Clark Celso “Budol” Serion; and some barangay officials who graced the opening night. Pastor Francis Doroy, a professor from Central Philippine Adventist College, was the invited guest who gave emphasis about the theme.
Different games were played during the week-long event including basketball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), sepak takraw and track and field. Nightly presentations also included singing (solo and duet), speech choir, playing of improvised instruments, child preaching, dance interpretations, real–life drama, and biblical drama. NSM administrators and directors were the speakers during the evening and morning devotionals. Special presentations were made on the Sabbath. The first placers during the nightly presentations were chosen to present again on the Sabbath School. Pastor Lowell Quinto, coordinator of 1000 Missionary Movement and Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle in Nurturing, Discipleship and Reclamation (IEL-NDR) for Central Philippine Union Conference, was the speaker of the hour during the divine service. His wife, Nadeth Quinto, and their two sons were there to support despite the hectic schedules piling ahead. On Sabbath afternoon, choral singing and youth preaching were held.
The most awaited part of the event was the proclamation of winners that was done on Saturday night. According to the tally board, District Seven was pronounced as the overall champion, followed by the District two as first runner up, and Districts one and four were second runners up. Of course, the grand social night followed after the awarding ceremony.
The federation rally would not be made possible without the federation officers who did their job well.
“We praise God for the overwhelming support of all our brethren, our district pastors, our federation rally officers as well as our beloved administrators and departmental directors of Negros Oriental-Siquijor Mission, for attending our 8th federation rally. The programs, games, and presentations were successfully done with the help of everyone and with the guidance of our Heavenly Father. To God be the Glory!” uttered by one of the Onward Federation officers.
