The first West Visayan Conference (WVC)-Wide Youth Advisory meeting was organized on February 26-28, 2016 through the initiative of the youth director, Pastor Julieto Gonzales, at the WVC Building, Corner Jalandoni – Ledesma Sts., Iloilo City with the theme, “Go ye.”

WVC YouthThis three-day event commenced Friday evening of February 26, 2016 for the arrival and registration of participants composed of the eager youth leaders from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo.

During the Youth Advisory, young men and women spent quality time and inspired one another as they shared reports of their district’s accomplishments in serving the Lord. There was also a special session wherein participants were systematically grouped by provinces and youth organizations like Youth Council, AMiCUS, and Single Professionals. The devotionals were also spiritually fulfilling since the messages geared on preparing and fully-equipping young people as they heed to answer the call found in Matthew 28:19 which was also the verse that inspired the theme,“Go ye.”

Pastor Kerry Estrebilla, West Visayan Conference president, showed his support in this spiritual endeavor and in one of his speeches he greatly encouraged young leaders to become vigilant partners of the Conference in advancing its thrusts, primarily the objective of entering unentered territories – municipalities where there was no Seventh-day Adventist Church present in town. Pastor Julieto Gonzales then presented a strategic program called Mission Lifeguard that aims to seek and save the lost youth in every church.

The program concluded with an appeal directed to the youth reminding them of Mrs. White’s words that says: “Young men and women are invited to give God the strength of their youth, that through the exercise of their powers, through keen thought and vigorous action, they may bring glory to Him and salvation to their fellowmen.” (GW 67.2)
